Hello and merry belated Christmas.
How was your Christmas this year? We had a quiet Christmas lunch only 4 of us. What we had were English roasted chicken (recipe from grandad Robin), smoke salmon, Coppa ham, foie gras and our Christmas cookies for desert.

We baked the cookies the night before. Prepared them and left 2 cookies for father Christmas. Hope he liked them, he ate most of it.

Our cookies are sort breads with royal icing.
The reason why we made them because we’d like Rhonda to create what she wanted to draw on the cookies. Since we’re kind of homeschooling, I try to get her to do many things she can apart from reading, writing and math.
We didn’t make the video this time for instruction. It was a bit late so we just did it very quick. This is the recipe that we did.
Easy Sort Breads:
Ingredients:
Unsalted Butter 110 g. (soften)
Sugar 3/4 cup (or 1 cup if you like them sweet)
Salt 1 tsp
Vanilla extract 1 tsp
All purpose flour 1-1/2 cup
Royal Icing:
Icing sugar 2 cups
Milk 2-3 tbs
Your desire food colours
Instructions:
Cookies:
Mix soften butter with sugar mix until combine. Add salt and vanilla extract.
Add flour, mix with butter batter then knead until it dough form. ( If the dough still too soft add some more flour)
Wrap with cling film, roll the dough to shape of big sausage. Chill in the fridge for 20 to 30 mins until it firm.
Use the sharp knife cut the dough to round shape about 0.5 cm. thick or roll it out and cut it with cookies cutter.
Bake in the oven at 180 c/350 F for 15 mins. Then wait until them cool down completely then decorate with royal icing.
Royal Icing:
Mix icing sugar with milk until get to right consistency. The consistency we did, it was a bit thick so it wasn’t too runny when you spread and draw on the cookies.
Add food colours you desire.
Here we go! You can use this recipe for every occasion. New year, birth day, baby shower, etc. Leave us the comment if you try out our recipe.
Happy New Year 2021!!
